Paying your Penalty Charge Notice
The methods for paying your Penalty Charge Notice are listed below. Please remember it is your responsibility to ensure payment is received by the dates specified on the PCN or in any correspondence.
If you don't know when a payment must be received by, or how much is owed, please call our General Enquiries line on 020 8891 7071 between 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday.
Online
- Credit and Debit card payment (except Diners and American Express) may be made online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
- Please ensure that you have your Penalty Charge Notice number (RTnnnnnnnn) and credit or debit card details ready
- Go to the Make a payment online page and follow the link to our secure server.
By telephone
- Credit and Debit card payment (except Diners and American Express) may be made using our automated payment line on 0870 389 1389, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
- Please ensure that you have your Penalty Charge Notice Number (RTnnnnnnnn) and credit or debit card details ready
- To speak to an advisor, please call our Payments Helpline on 020 8831 6301/6302 (Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm). Please note that only payment matters can be addressed on this telephone number. For other enquiries please call our General Enquiries line on 020 8891 7071 between 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday.
By post
- Payment may be made by crossed cheque or postal order made payable to 'LONDON BOROUGH OF RICHMOND UPON THAMES'
- Please write the Notice Number (RTnnnnnnnn) and your address on the reverse of the cheque/postal order
- Payment may also be made by credit/debit card (except Diners and American Express)
- Please do not send cash, bank notes or blank postal orders
- Responsibility cannot be taken for loss of cash, bank notes or blank postal orders by post
- Send your payment, together with the completed payment slip from your Penalty Charge Notice/Notice to Owner/Charge Certificate to Parking Services, P.O. Box 221, Twickenham, Middlesex TW1 3TL
- Please note that if you require a receipt, you will need to send a stamped self-addressed envelope with your payment.
In person
- Payment may be made in person at The Parking Shop (see the Parking contact details page for details)
- Payments may be made by cash, bank notes, postal orders, or credit/debit cards (except Diners and American Express)
- If paying by cash it is advisable to obtain a receipt as proof of payment.
Instalment arrangements
The Council does, at its own discretion, allow a small number of instalment arrangements whereby penalty charges can be paid over a number of months. Exceptional circumstances only will be considered, and instalment arrangements will not be offered for the 50% discounted fine amount. You should contact Parking Services at the address above if you are having difficulty paying and would like to set up such an arrangement.
