Parking Charter released

On Friday 11th January 2008 the Council released its first Parking Charter. This details the aims of the Council in providing a 'firm but fair' approach to providing parking and enforcement within the borough. To read the charter or download a printable copy, please see the Parking Charter page.

New controlled parking in First Cross Road, Twickenham

From Monday 17th December 2007 the Council introduced controlled parking in First Cross Road, Twickenham. Parking is restricted between 8:30am and 6:30pm, Monday to Sunday inclusive (excluding Good Friday, Christmas Day and bank holidays).

New parking penalty charges from 1st July 2007

From 1st July 2007 the system of parking penalty charges changed for all London boroughs. Parking contraventions are now classified as 'more serious' and 'less serious', and the resulting penalty charges are set at higher or lower levels to reflect this.

Extension to the North-East Richmond controlled parking zone

From 1st July 2007 the North-East Richmond controlled parking zone was extended to include Bardolph Road, St Georges Road, Trinity Cottages and Trinity Road.

Residents or businesses wishing to purchase parking permits can do so by following the instructions on the Residents parking permits, Resident visitor parking permits or Business parking permits pages.

All zone business parking permits now available

The Council now offers the chance for businesses located within the borough to purchase permits which will allow the holder to park in any resident or business parking place in the borough (excluding Richmond Town zone A1 business parking places).

New permit charges from 2nd April 2007

A new charging system for permits started on 2nd April 2007. The charge for most parking permits issued by the Council is now based on the vehicle carbon dioxide emission or cylinder capacity 'band'.

New permit application forms and supporting documents are available to download from the Car parking permits pages, or you can pick them up from The Parking Shop (details on the Parking contact details page).

The new pricing will affect permits issued for all controlled parking zones except the Twickenham Event Zone, as permits are free of charge. Car park season tickets are also unaffected.

Parking Shop in East Sheen has now closed

Parking Charges increased from 5th February 2007

Following a decision by the Council Cabinet on 6th November 2006, parking charges increased from 5th February 2007. This affected Resident visitor permits, Traders permits, Season tickets, meter parking, pay and display parking and voucher parking. This was the first increase since May 2003, with some controlled parking zones unaffected since February 2001.
