Teddington CPZ consultation

Implementation update: 21 May

Following the decision to introduce a Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) in Teddington, a second consultation took place asking three additional roads: Blackmores Grove, Field Lane and Avenue Road whether they would like to be included as part of the CPZ. Read the details of the implementation update.

Background

In December 2007/January 2008, the Council undertook a final stage consultation with residents and businesses of a number of roads around the station.

The results of the consultation showed that there was support in a number of roads around the station. These results were reported to the Transport Consultative Group on 30 January 2008. After this meeting the Cabinet Member approved the implementation of the CPZ to eleven roads around the station.

The decision to implement the CPZ was subsequently "called-in" and referred to the Council’s Overview and Scrutiny Committee on Tuesday 26 February 2008. The Committee accepted the Cabinet Member’s decision to implement the CPZ. However, in the light of further representations (including petitions and surveys from local residents) and consideration of the consultation results the Committee requested that residents of Avenue Road, Blackmores Grove, and Field Lane, be re-consulted to see whether they would wish to be included in this CPZ. The results of this consultation, which is now underway, will be analysed and reported to the cabinet member in late April / early May 2008. As per previous consultations, the results will be analysed on a road by road basis and a decision made as to whether or not to include one or more of these roads in the CPZ.
