Proposed East Sheen Controlled Parking Zone extension consultation results

This consultation closed on 25th June 2007.

The results of this consultation were reported to a special Transport Consultative Group meeting on Tuesday 10 July 2007 at the East Sheen Primary School, Upper Richmond Road West, East Sheen.

Results of the consultation

A total of 794 Consultation documents and questionnaires were distributed to all Residents and Businesses in the existing East Sheen Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) and a total of 866 to a proposed extension area rangingsouth to Sheen Gate Gardens, west to Leinster Avenue and east to three roads off Sheen Lane including Larches Avenue, Muirdown Avenue and Shrewsbury Road.

29% of the existing zone returned questionnaires, and 36% of the proposed extension area returned questionnaires.

Based on the results, the Cabinet Member for Traffic and Transport (Councillor David Trigg) has decided to progress the CPZ to the next stage, including the setting up of a parking working group of residents and business representatives to progress detailed design and advertise traffic regulation orders to:

  • Reduce the hours of operation of the existing zone to two hours (11am  to 1pm) for an experimental period;
  • To enable statutory consultation to take place prior to a decision being taken on those roads to be within an extended zone.
  • To carry out a review six months after implementation, the review to include those areas adjacent to the zone.

The results of consultation are grouped by question and presented in a street by street format.
