Montpelier Row/Orleans Road/Chapel Road CPZ consultation
Background and introduction
A controlled parking zone (CPZ) was first implemented in the Montpelier Row / Orleans Road / Chapel Road area in 1999. This was in the form of an extension to the St Margarets South CPZ (zone S) following extensive consultation with residents. In 2007, the Council received a petition and other requests to increase the days / hours of operation of the CPZ to include weekends between 1 April and 31 October.
The map shows the roads covered by proposed increase in existing days/hours of operation of CPZ between 1 April and 31 October.
Objectives of this consultation
The main purpose of this consultation is to seek the views of residents of Montpelier Row, Orleans Road and Chapel Road on the following:
1. Whether the days and hours of operation of the CPZ in this area (currently 10am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday) should be increased. Two options are being proposed for increased hours of operation:
- Monday to Friday, 10am to 4.30pm (1 Nov to 31 Mar) then Monday to Sunday, 10am to 4.30pm (1 April and 31 October), or
- Monday to Friday, 10am to 6.30pm (1 Nov to 31 Mar) then Monday to Sunday, 10am to 6.30pm (1 April and 31 October).
2. Whether the CPZ in this area should operate when there is a major event at Marble Hill Park; and
3. A revised layout of parking areas and yellow lines in this area.
