Car parking permits

The council issues a number of types of parking permits for use within its Controlled Parking Zones (CPZs) and car parks. The administration of the permit scheme is managed by our parking service partner, National Car Parks (NCP), through The Parking Shop in Twickenham.

Please note that as proofs of eligibility, payment and signed application forms are required, you will not be able to apply online. You will however be able to download the relevant notes and forms so you can fill them in before taking or posting to The Parking Shop.

Whilst your application is being processed, you must ensure that you park legally as the Council will not accept an expected permit as a reason to cancel a Penalty Charge Notice.

If you have any queries about the application process, then please call The Parking Shop. Contact details are available on the Parking contact details page.

Changes to CO2 banding

Most parking permits issued by the Council are priced based upon the engine CO2 emissions (for vehicles first registered on or after 1 March 2001) or cylinder capacity (for all other vehicles).

This scheme has been in place since April 2007 and is being revised from 1 April 2009 with new banding ranges.

More information can be found on the Vehicle banding for parking permits explained page.

All zone business permits now available

The Council now offers the chance for businesses located within the borough to purchase permits which will allow the holder to park in any resident or business parking place in the borough (excluding Richmond Town zone A1 business parking places).

See the Business parking permit pages for more information and to download application forms.
