Community Safety Partnership events and meetings

Stakeholders meetings

Community Safety Partnership Stakeholder meetings were held twice a year from 2008 to 2010 but the December 2010 meeting was postponed due to Council restructuring.  Future arrangements for stakeholder consultation have not yet been finalised.

Operation Lockout roadshows

Your local Safer Neighbourhood Police team and the ‘Operation Lockout’ roadshow are scheduled to be at various events and locations around the Borough.

They will be offering free crime prevention advice, cycle security marking and mobile phone marking.

Police Liaison Groups (PLGs)

There are Police Liaison Group meetings in each ward and they are generally held four to six times each year. Police Liaison Groups are the bridge between the community and the Police and come under the umbrella of the Community and Police Partnership (CPP). The minutes/notes of PLG meetings are added to the CPP agenda for the following meeting. That enables CPP members to see the issues that are occurring in the various parts of the borough and how they are being resolved.

Face the People

All services should face and respond to the people they serve, and provide them the opportunity to influence decision making and a forum to provide feedback.

The Community Safety Partnership holds a ‘Face the People’ meeting on an annual basis. This event informs the community of the actions that have been taken on a variety of issues on community safety, policing, health and other local services that may affect their way of life during the previous year.
