Community and Police Partnership (CPP)
Is your organisation interested in local policing?
If yes, please see Richmond Community and Police Partnership's (CPP) poster
(pdf, 40KB) about our membership drive and Biennial Review.
The CPP is reviewing its membership. Applications from bona fide community groups concerned about local policing matters are welcome now. The CPP meets to discuss all aspects of policing within the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames - street crime, drug abuse, vandalism, noise pollution, road safety. The aim is to facilitate co-operation and understanding between local Police and the community they serve.
How to get involved
If your organisation has a role in our community and you feel you could contribute to the work of the Partnership, please get in touch with us as soon as possible, says CPP Chairman, Carole Atkinson. Any organisation is entitled to enquire about joining the CPP. You will be asked for your group’s constitution and there are certain criteria for membership. We are particularly keen to hear from youth groups and other under-represented sections of the community.
Effective policing can only be achieved with the consent and co-operation of the public. By its constitution, the Community and Police Partnership maintains its independence from the Police and Borough Council. The membership includes senior Police Officers, Councillors Head, Jaeger, Jones, Khosa and Williams, local Members of Parliament, statutory agencies as well as voluntary groups such as Neighbourhood Watch, residents’ associations and Victim Support. Your local neighbourhood watch coordinator is Glynn Jones. Telephone Glynn on 020 8247 5804.
