Community Safety Partnership

About the Partnership

The Community Safety Partnership (CSP) involves various agencies working together to reduce crime and disorder within the Borough. The Partnership evolved following the Crime and Disorder Act 1998. The Act stipulates that local authorities and the police service are jointly responsible for the formulation and implementation of a strategy to reduce crime and disorder in the local authority area, in co-operation with other local statutory bodies.

The Community Safety Partnership within the Borough of Richmond upon Thames consists of:

and other organisations.

Further details can be found in the section about the Partnership's objectives, principles and funding.

Crime in the borough

Before crime and disorder can be tackled effectively, a realistic picture of the type and location of crimes is needed .

We must also encourage people to report crime. We know this is not always easy and our Reporting Crime section suggests a number of ways you can report different types of crime. See the Domestic abuse section for help and support for people experiencing abuse.

Crime in the borough is analysed in the Strategic Assessment (2009 version)(pdf, 585KB), which is used to set priorities and inform the Community Safety Partnership Plan 2008-11 (updated April 2009)

The Metropolitan Police Service and Metropolitan Police Authority have made a Policing Pledge, which is their promise to Londoners to deliver the high-quality service that you deserve.
