Boys Football Festival

Pupils from 26 of the borough's primary schools competed in the Competitive Edge Boy’s Football Festival on Thursday 22 April 2010 at NPL in Teddington. After the festival was postponed 3 times due to bad weather, the sun shone for the event.
The schools were organised into six groups for the morning session, before being placed into the cup or plate competitions for the afternoon. The top 12 teams qualified for the cup, which led to some close games. In the semi-finals Barnes took on Sheen Mount while St Edmunds played Chase Bridge. The standard of play was outstanding and an exciting final saw Barnes beat St Edmunds 1-0 to become 2010 champions.
The remainder of schools excelled in the plate competition. In the semi-final’s East Sheen took on St Mary’s and St Peters while Archdeacon played Meadlands. A very exciting final between Meadlands and East Sheen saw East Sheen win 1-0 and take the plate trophy.
Brentford Community Trust were present on the day and winners and runners up were presented with their trophies and medals.
