London Youth Games 2008

If you are aged 9 t0 18 years and mad about your sport, we would like to hear from you.

The London Boroug of Richmond upon Thames is currently looking for enthusiastic young people to represent the borough in the 2008 London Youth Games. The games are open to all young people who live or attend school in the borough.

Application forms the London Youth Games will be available at the end of October 2008.

The Mini Games

The Mini Games consist of eight sports designed especially for primary school children in years 5 and 6 and will take place on Thursday 3 July at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre.

  • Basketball
  • Boccia (for persons with severe learning difficulties)
  • Hi five netball
  • Hockey
  • Sportshall athletics
  • Swimming
  • Tag rugby

The Main Games

The Main Games consist of 36 sports and the competition is open to those aged between 11 and 18 yerars. Some sports in the main games are specifically for young people with disabilities. The finals weekend is scheduled for Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 July there are also some sports that hold qualifying rounds and finals leading up to the main weekend.

  • Swimming
  • Table Tennis
  • Tennis
  • Trampolining
  • Volleyball (girls and boys)
  • Weightlifting
  • Disability Athletics
  • Disability Swimming
  • Disability Football

Please note that age categories vary from sport to sport.
