Tree work applications

If you are in a conservation area, or your tree is subject to a preservation order, you need to complete a tree work application before carrying out work to all trees with a trunk girth (measured at 1.5m above the ground) greater than 7.5cm - please contact us for the form, or download the tree work application form.

Help with your application

Please be specific about proposed tree works. We often have to send forms back because they are too vague, which can waste a lot of time. A proposal simply to "lop", "cut back" or "prune" does not describe the extent of the work, so please state for example "thin crown by 30%".

We strongly recommend that you seek advice from a tree surgeon who will provide you with a professional specification of the works needed.

A list of approved contractors for tree works can be found at the Arboricultural Association web site
