Improving Richmond's parks
London has some of the best examples of urban parks in the country and the London Borough of Richmond Upon Thames is renowned for having some of the highest quality open space in the capital.
The Council’s Parks and Open Spaces Section has an enthusiastic Parks Team, who are dedicated to improving our parks and open spaces to a level where they could be considered as some of the best in London.
Due to substantial capital investment the Parks service have been able to carry out excellent improvements across the borough. Parks have been improved in many ways, such as:
- Physical improvements - hard and soft landscaping
- Improving accessibility - better paths and entrances
- Improving facilities - play, sports, pavilions, benches, bins and signage
- Working in partnership with users and other stakeholders
- Establishing Friends groups and supporting community involvement
We are continually looking at ways to improve sites with the involvement of the local community. The establishment of Friends Groups and better community liaison has improved the way we work and improved your parks for you!
