Local history and heritage
The towns, villages and open spaces comprising the borough of Richmond upon Thames have a rich, varied and long history. Royal associations with Richmond, for example, can be traced back some 900 years. Our Local Studies Collection, based at the Old Town Hall in Richmond, contains extensive resources for those interested in local history. In addition, our cemetries service has produced lists of people of note buried in the borough.
