Three volumes. Editor Barry Kornfeld. Biographical entries on hundreds of musicians and associated people in the world of jazz music, mainly brief, but longer for artists of particular importance. Also articles on styles of jazz, and related areas, like use of jazz in film. Entries give bibliographies. Selected recordings and films where appropriate.
