Safari Books Online

Safari Books Online provides full-text online access to Computing, IT and Management titles released by leading IT publishers: O’ Reilly & Associates and The Pearson Technology Group.

Whether you just need a guide to get started on the Internet or with Microsoft Office applications or you are an IT student or professional, Safari allows you to browse an extensive range of IT books straight on your desktop.

Safari access

You can access Safari e-books from all public PCs in Richmond Libraries as well as from outside the libraries (from home, work, etc):

  1. From any computer in Richmond Libraries. All you have to do is to follow this link: Safari Books Online.
  2. From home, via the library catalogue Online Resources. You will need to enter your Richmond borough library card number and PIN (Please ask at any Richmond library if you need either).

  • Books to get you started on Microsoft Office applications (for example: Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Powerpoint), the Internet, Web Design, HTML, as well as advanced computing and programming.
  • Advanced search facilities - Safari will search every single page of all the books in the collection for your keywords.
  • Titles are often frequently available before they are published in print.
  • Every page from every book is available in full text and includes tables of content, glossaries and prefaces, diagrams and coding which you can paste straight into the document you are working on.
