More information on eAudiobooks

To download an eAudiobook you must create a NetLibrary personal account. To ensure that only Richmond borough library members create accounts, this must be done either from a Library computer or from home via the library catalogue Online Resources (where you will need to enter your library card number and PIN). Once you have an account you can access NetLibrary directly.

Features of eAudiobooks include:

  • You can browse the collection online, 24 hours a day.
  • Up to 10 titles can be 'checked out', each for 21 days. They can be renewed once for an additional 21 days. (After this, the title's 'Digital Rights Management' licence will expire and your PC will no longer be able to play the files).
  • You listen to them on your PC or copy them to a portable MP3 player.
  • There should be no waiting lists. We effectively have unlimited copies of all titles.
  • You can listen to the entire book - all titles are unabridged.
  • New titles are added regularly.

Extensive help text, including Frequently Asked Questions, estimated download times, software requirements are available once you have logged in to NetLibrary. Select 'Help' to access these options available on any NetLibrary web page.

As well as eAudiobooks, we also subscribe to NetLibrary e-books, which are printed books read on a computer screen.
