Where are there halls available to hire?

There are several halls located across the borough. For information about other halls in the borough contact the Information Service, telephone number: 020 8940 9125, pick up a leaflet from your local library or download our Halls for Hire booklet(pdf, 733KB).

What sort of events can be held in the halls and what is the maximum number of people that can be accommodated?

Our range of halls provide ideal settings for a variety of events such as weddings, meetings, concerts, bazaars and parties and can accommodate between 30 and 300 people.

How can I arrange to view the halls and facilities?

Firstly, check with the Lettings Officer to see if the date you want is available and then an appointment can be arranged.

How much does it cost to hire a hall?

Charges vary according to the size and location and are charged on an hourly basis. Contact the Lettings Officer for a full list of charges or see the following documents:

Can I do my own catering?

Yes. Self catering facilities are available in all our halls which allow you to do your own catering or use a caterer of your choice. At York House you also have the choice of using the in-house caterer. Please see our in-house catering pages or telephone 020 8891 7066.

Do you provide furniture, tableware and cooking utensils?

Tables and chairs are provided in all our halls but you, or your caterer, will need to provide all crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils etc.

Can I serve alcohol?

Yes. You can serve alcohol providing that you are not selling it. To run a pay bar please contact the Lettings Officer for further information. At York House the in-house caterer can provide a licensed bar for you if you wish.
