The Collection today

The Heritage Lottery Fund grant in 2001 has given the collection a new lease of life, ensuring that works are stored safely in new pull-out picture racks.  Many works which had deteriorated over the years and which were in urgent need of attention have been conserved by Nicholas Burnett and Richard Hawkes at Museum Conservation Services Ltd, Imperial War Museum Duxford and by Jim Dimond.  Conservation of the collection is an ongoing process and any individual who wishes to assist financially should contact the curators or consider becoming a Friend of the Gallery.
