Exhibition based workshops at Orleans House Gallery

Our engaging workshops offer schools a great way to make the most of the opportunities for learning afforded by our dynamic programme of changing exhibitions. Interactive tours are followed by exciting practical art activities inspired by the works on display. These lively gallery sessions are suitable for both primary and secondary schools, covering Key Stages 1-4. Workshops can be delivered as outreach sessions to schools and .we can also support groups with special needs and challenging behaviour.

What teachers have said about our workshops:

“The children loved it. The workshop was well organised and age-appropriate. The gallery tour was also very child-friendly.” - Loretta Roncone, Unicorn School, Kew.

“The activity was very well planned and the children (and teacher!) were thrilled with the end result” - Wendy Wriglesworth, Lowther Primary School, Barnes.

Our aims

Beyond the art historical and practical content of these sessions we aim to build pupils’ confidence in speaking about what they see, sharing opinions and recognising likes and dislikes. Pupils will be encouraged to evaluate their own work and express what they think about the work of their peers in a sensitive way.
