Twickenham Carnival

Sunday 17 June 2012

As the culmination of a two-week Twickenham Riverside festival, Carnival will open with a colourful parade from York House to the Carnival Village in the grounds of Orleans House Gallery, Twickenham. The riverside will come alive with the sights and sounds of the Caribbean in a global celebration, welcoming the world to London for 2012. Twickenham Carnival is a wonderful summer celebration with music, dance, food, games and children’s arts activities – a free summer party for all the family.

For more detailed information about Twickenham Carnival in 2012, please re-visit the site or contact Orleans House Gallery again closer to the time.

Carnival 2011 celebrated our multi-cultured city through the theme of ‘Journeys’, with a parade and global village featuring carnival traditions from around the world. The vibrant carnival parade, bursting with spectacular costumes, dancers and drummers, made its way along the riverside to the Carnival Village in the grounds of Orleans House Gallery showcasing the best in traditional music and dance from around the world. We also had a craft bazaar, performance workshops, arts activities and a vast array of global food and drink for sale. Thank you to all visitors, performers, and vendors who came out in the rainy weather to keep the Carnival spirit up!
