On the Edge - world music from Richmond's Riverside

August 16-17 2008, 12 to 8pm

A sumputous lineup of gorgeous summer sounds is promised at On the Edge with music from across the globe.

This years Saturday lineup features up and coming local talent from across London and beyond, many of the acts already playing to strong followings.

One of the bands will be the Mumbai and New York based Shaa'ir + Func, currently on tour in Europe playing many of the biggest summer festivals such as Glastonbury, The Big Chill Festival and POP in Cologne. Shaa'ir + Func use a mélange of poetry, funk, R&B, electronica and a healthy side of jazz and On the Edge welcomes their unique and energetic act to Richmond Riverside this summer.

Sunday brings established and world renown acts from Cuba to Eastern Europe to Richmond as well as free Salsa lessons from a local Salsa school.

And playing all the latest and classic world music tracks throughout the day will be DJ Vartan.
