Best Value and performance

The Audit Commission carried out a week-long Best Value inspection of Housing Services in July 2002 and concluded that the Council provides a good 2-Star Service that has promising prospects for improvement. The Best Value report(pdf, 535KB) sets out the findings of the inspection.

Following inspections carried out by the Audit Commission in May 2003 and February 2004, the Supporting People Programme in Richmond upon Thames was also assessed as providing a good, 2-star service that has promising prospects for improvement. The inspection report(pdf, 647KB) for the Supporting People Programme was published in June 2004.

Housing Services use a range of Best Value Performance Indicators (BVPIs) and local indicators, based on local priorities, to monitor performance. The performance monitoring(pdf, 60KB) shows that Housing Services have improved service delivery in most areas.
