Housing strategy, service development and performance

As well as providing a number of services directly to the community, the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames Housing Services has other more strategic aims and responsibilities, including

• Identifying housing-related problems and developing and delivering strategies and plans to tackle them
• Ensuring that our services deliver Best Value and that our performance(pdf, 40KB) is continuously improving
• Setting and publishing customer service standards to inform customers about the standards of service they can expect to receive
• Promoting good relations between our different communities, and ensuring the equality of opportunity and avoidance of discrimination in the planning and delivery of our services
• Supporting partnership working in particular fields like homelessness, private-sector housing, Supporting People and liaisons with housing associations
• Developing affordable housing in partnership with housing associations, private-sector developers and others
• Developing staff and performance management to achieve Investors in People status.
