Housing Association Forum

In order to monitor, co-ordinate and achieve the most effective affordable housing development and provision in the borough, the Council holds regular Housing Association Forums. This brings together Registered Providers (RP’s), the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) and other interested parties to work together to meet local needs, discuss common issues and share any emerging best practice.

Broad themes include delivering affordable housing and promoting sustainable construction techniques. The forum looks at housing management and receives an update from the HCA and Construction Training Initiative. The Council advises and consults the forum on changes to local affordable housing policies and the forum also receives updates from the Council’s Planning Policy team who highlight forthcoming changes that are relevant to housing development in the borough.
