Furniture

If the Council is satisfied that it may have a duty to you and your household, but you cannot make your own arrangements for the storage of your furniture, then you can ask the Council to help you.

We will arrange for the collection, storage and delivery of the furniture, but you will have to pay for the service. Please ask your caseworker about the weekly cost and deposit.

If you are moving into temporary accommodation and do not have any furniture, you can ask your caseworker to provide a referral to the local Furniture Project. You will be responsible for this cost. If you are on benefits, you can apply to the local DWP Social Fund department for a grant or loan to cover the cost of buying your furniture.
