The Adult Placement scheme, which is sometimes known as shared lives, Adult Placement carers offer support and care to a person who has a learning disability in the carers own home.

Carers may offer a home to people on a long term basis or respite support which may be a day, weekend or a few weeks stay.

Here are two people who are carers and use the Adult Placement Scheme:

Who is it for?

It is for Adults aged 18 years and over and who live in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.

Adult Placement Carers will help you to:

  • Keep healthy and active
  • Learn new skills
  • Meet people
  • Enjoy hobbies and support you with activities
  • Manage your Money
  • Share domestic tasks like cooking and cleaning
