Support during the adoption process

You will be assigned an adoption social worker early on in the adoption process, when you are invited to join a preparation group. Your social worker will visit regularly and will get to know you very well when compiling the suitability to adopt report. They will be on hand to support and help you throughout the adoption process and can offer counselling, advice and information about any post-adoption support needs you may have.

Once you have been approved to adopt, you will be given an information pack outlining the next stages of the process. We will ask for your consent to be put on our adoption support database so you can receive our quarterly newsletter and invitations to any adoption support events that are relevant to you. We also arrange a series of post-approval groups specially tailored to your needs.
