If you are an adopted child
Are you adopted or going to be adopted? Are you under the age of 18? Do you live in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames? If the answer to these questions is yes, then you may be able to take part in some of our activities!
We organise lots of events for adoptive families. Some of these are for your parents only but you can come along to some of them too. We run children’s groups for children under the age of 10 and over the age of 10, where you can meet other adopted children. We also have an annual Fun Day for all the family. To find support services for you and your parents, follow this link.
If you would like to talk to someone about being adopted, there is also a national helpline for adopted young people run by the charity After Adoption. Calls are free and confidential and you can speak to people who know all about adoption. For more information about the helpline, please see the Talk adoption website.
If you want to talk to an adoption social worker at the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, you or your parents can contact the Adoption Team.
If you would like to find out about youth services and things to do for young people in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, see our Youth Service page.
