Welfare Benefits Service
Ref: 024/03/08
What is the Welfare Benefits Service?
We are committed to ensuring that nobody in the borough has to live in poverty. Our priority is to ensure that local residents are receiving all the benefits that they are entitled to. This service does not affect any benefit that you may be currently receiving.
What service do you provide?
If we identify a benefit(s) that you are entitled to through discussion with yourself, we will complete the claim forms for you. We can also put you in touch with other services and organisations that may be able to help you in other ways.
What benefits can you help me to claim?
We can help you claim all types of state benefits. However, the most common ones for older people are Pension Credit, Attendance Allowance and Carer’s Allowance. For younger people, the most common benefits are Income Support and Disability Living allowance. We also help people to claim Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit.
Who provides the service?
The service is provided by Richmond Community Partnership. It provides an information, advice and guidance service for people aged 50 and over. It is a partnership between Age Concern Richmond upon Thames, the Local Pension Service and Richmond Adult and Community Services. The Richmond Community Partnership provides a home visiting service and help people claim benefits that they are entitled to. You can contact the Partnership on 020 8481 3112. Or you can visit us at our Information Point in the Civic Centre in Twickenham or at Mortlake Training Centre in Lower Richmond Road.
