Young carers
Young carers are children and young people under 18 years of age, who help to look after or provide care support for someone in their family who has a disability, an illness, a mental health condition, or a problem with drugs or alcohol.
Young carers could be supporting the care of a parent, a grandparent, a sibling or someone living as a member of their family.
Young carers can often take on the practical and or emotional caring responsibly usually associated with that of an adult.

Richmond Carers Centre – Young Carers Service provides:
- Information and support for young carers living in the London Borough of Richmond
- Young carers activity and support groups
- Activities and group trips during the school holidays
- Fun Zone – Saturday club for young carers aged 8-13.
- One to one support for young carers
