Learning and Development Team
The Learning and Development Team is a part of the Organisational Development Team which is located in Human Resources, part of the Chief Executives Directorate . We are located at the Civic Centre, Twickenham. Most of our training events are held in the Borough
Our aim
“We aim to provide Learning and Development opportunities for statutory agencies and those in the private and voluntary sectors to enable them to work together to improve the quality and delivery of service to service users, their carers and local communities”.
Training will ensure the specific needs of people with mental health problems, dementia, communication difficulties, sensory loss, learning disabilities, physical disabilities, neurological disabilities and serious illness are addressed within the content of the training and where necessary develop additional specialist courses.
How we work with Private, Voluntary and Independent Social Care Professionals
- We offer courses to carers and staff from the Private, Voluntary and Independent (PVI) sector who work with both children and adults within the Borough to provide social care. Most courses are free.
- We work in partnership with the PVI sector to deliver inter agency training such as safeguarding adults and safeguarding children.
- Provide advice and guidance to PVI organisations to assist them to train their staff.
- Hire out specialist facilities for moving and handling training for partner organisations.
