Who is the service for?

All adults with a learning disability who usually live in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.

What is Respite Care?

Respite Care is spending a short time away from home to give you and the people who support you (your carers) a break.

We provide support promoting rights, independence, choice and inclusion.

What do we offer?

We offer different types of breaks:

  • You can stay overnight.
  • You can stay for short breaks.
  • We keep a bed open for emergencies.

Some of the things you can do at Respite

  • You can stay with friends.
  • You can learn to cook.
  • You can go out locally to pubs, cinemas and bowling.
  • You can come to parties, BBQs and other social events.
  • You can still go to your place of work or college whilst at respite.
  • You can join the SUGAR group to have your say about respite.
  • We also have carer’s evenings for your carer to relax and socialise with other carers.

Tea Club

  • Tea club runs from 4-7pm most weekday evenings.
  • It helps you to meet friends
  • The club is community based
  • It is funded by the Carers Grant.
  • Staff help you to go out for meals, meet friends and go on outings.
