In 2001, the government published 'Valuing People; A New Strategy for Learning Disability for the 21st Century'. This strategy set objectives and targets for improving the lives of people with learning disabilities. It said that local authorities should set up Partnership Boards to ensure that the targets in the strategy are met.
The Richmond Partnership Board meets to talk about opportunities and support for people with learning disabilities in the London Borough of Richmond.
