Managing your Direct Payments

What records will I need to keep?

You will need to keep simple records of how you spend the money, and we will need to see your records every three months. You will be given a form which you can use to record all the information you need to keep and a support worker will help you fill in the forms if necessary.

What if I want Social Services to arrange services for me?

Direct Payments is offered as a choice instead of receiving services directly. Your care manager or social worker will not push you into receiving direct payments if it’s not appropriate for you, or if you don’t want to try it.

What if I decide I don’t want Direct Payments any more, it’s not working out, or I am no longer able to organise my Direct Payments?

Social Services have a duty to ensure you are receiving adequate care to meet your needs. If at any time you are unable to organise your care arrangements, you should contact your care manager or social worker, and care will be arranged for you. You will not lose your entitlement to receive services because you have chosen Direct Payments.
