What can Adult and Community Services do to help?

Adult and Community Services are the lead organisation in coordinating investigations into the suspected abuse of adults.

Adult and Community Services work across all agencies to coordinate an efficient and effective investigation into alleged or suspected abuse.

Adult and Community Services use their multi-agency guidelines ‘Protecting Vulnerable Adults’(pdf, 317KB) to conduct their investigation.

These policy and procedures are primarily written for staff and volunteers in social services, health services, the voluntary sector staff and staff in the private sector.

Although social services is the main agency to coordinate the response to cases of alleged or suspected abuse, we work closely with all agencies to undertake this task, for example: police, health, voluntary sector.
