Recycling facilities
Where/how/what can I recycle?
Richmond upon Thames Council offers a number of ways to recycle a wide range of materials:
Black Box and Blue Box recycling - recyclable materials are collected weekly from your home. For more information, visit our Black Box and Blue Box recycling scheme page.
Recycling sites
There are 123 sites located around the borough. To find your local site and details of the materials it will accept, see recycling sites.
Our main Re-use and Recycling Centre is at Townmead Road, Kew. The Centre accepts the full range of materials that can be recycled in the borough. For more information, visit our Townmead Road page.
Adopt a recycling site scheme
Of the 123 recycling sites situated across the borough, did you know that over 40 of these sites have been adopted by community groups in the area. In return for helping manage these sites, the Council offers a generous quarterly payment. If you are a member of a group who would like to get involved, please contact the Recycling Office on 020 8891 7329 or by email recycling@richmond.gov.uk.
