What materials go in which recycling container?

Blue Box recycling container

  • Paper (shredded paper is accepted)
  • Magazines
  • Envelopes
  • Cardboard*

It is important to keep paper and cardboard separate by using the blue box.

The reasons are:

  • Collection crews are more likely to injure themselves collecting paper if it is mixed with glass and tin cans.
  • Black Box materials are collected by a different vehicle and go to a separate destination

*Important: Cardboard will only be collected if it is flattened. Please no juice cartons (for example: Tetra Pak).
