Where to put your waste and recycling our for collection
The diagrams below have been designed to show you where to leave your recycling and waste out for collection. Please note this varies depending on the type of house you live in and whether you have a storage space at the front of your property.
House or house converted into flats leading directly onto the pavement (public highway)
If you do not have storage space at the front of your property, place your recycling and waste directly outside your address, no earlier than 8pm the night before. Please take care to ensure it does not cause an obstruction to pedestrians - including wheelchair users, pushchairs and people with visual impairments.
Once recycling containers have been emptied, please remove them from the pavement as soon as possible on your collection day.

Recycling
Please ensure your recycling is left out for collection by 6am on the day of your collection. It needs to be placed at the front boundary of your property so it is clearly visible from the road and does not cause an obstruction to pedestrians - including wheelchair users, pushchairs and people with visual impairments.
Once recycling containers have been emptied, the crew will replace them in the location from which they were collected.
Waste
Please ensure that your waste is presented for collection by 6am on the day of collection. Your waste must be in tied black refuse sacks and left in either a dustbin (to protect from animals) or in your front garden/drive.
If you are still unsure of the best way and place to present your recycling or waste then please contact the council's Environment Contact Centre on 08456 122 660 where someone will be able to advise and assist you.
