New coloured garden sacks
Blue coloured sacks are being introduced to help the collection crew tell them apart from ordinary rubbish bags. Any old style sacks will still be collected as normal.
Collection service
We operate a collection service for garden sacks, which you can buy online in packs of 10. When buying online, you will automatically be registered for collections, which is included in the price.
Alternatively you can purchase sacks from all the Borough libraries, the Civic Centre in Twickenham and Townmead Road Re-use and Recycling Centre.
On collection day
- Sacks should be placed on your property at the boundary with the kerbside by 6am
- Sacks should be clearly visible from the road
Top tip
Collections are fortnightly and during hot weather the sacks may start to break down if left outside for over a week. Try not to fill bags too far in advance of your collection, and if possible keep the sacks in a shed or garage.
