Limits for Night Flights at Heathrow
The movement limit only relates to aircraft movements during the night quota count period, 11.30pm to 6.00 am. The use of the supplementary quota system is to encourage the use of quieter aircraft. The aircraft types are given a 'quota count' (QC) value according to how much noise they make on landing or take off of QC0, QC 0.5, QC1, QC2 and QC4. Aircraft movements score these QC values against a maximum allowable quota for each season.
