Aircraft noise complaints

Who you should complain to

Richmond Council

We have a noise line available for anyone who is concerned or upset by aircraft noise. The number is 020 8891 7979, this line is a 24 hour answer phone which allows us to monitor complaints. We also have an office number 020 8891 7729 for those who wish to speak to someone about aircraft noise or flight paths or alternatively you can send an e-mail to specialprojects@richmond.gov.uk.

When leaving a complaint please include your name and full address including postcode, the date and time of the offending aircraft and specific nature of the complaint.

In addition to the noiseline, we have fixed aircraft noise monitors, one in Barnes and one in Whitton, to record noise from aircraft arrivals and departures.

British Airports Authority

The British Airports Authority (BAA) runs a 24 hour seven day week noise line at Heathrow. To report noisy aircraft you can either:

During office hours you can normally speak to a member of BAAs Flight Evaluation Unit who will try to help you. This unit deals with a wide range of airport related issues from noise to flight numbers and flight paths.
