Contaminated land enquiries
If you want to make an enquiry regarding to any aspect of land contamination of a particular property within our borough, please remember:
- We can carry out a search for you into the history of land use including any past industrial uses, geology and hydrogeology of the area, planning history and provide you with details of any site investigation, if available.
- Please forward (preferably by email) the address details of the property and any known relevant particulars, as well as questions to the Contaminated Land Team.

Service charges
There is a charge for this service which is payable in advance of the search.
- For a standard search (turnaround within 20 days), the fee is £53/hour payable for the first hour of work. Should the search take longer, the fee is pro rata per hour or part hour.
- For an expedited search (turnaround up to 5 working days), the fee is £79/hour payable for the first hour of work. Should the search take longer, the fee is pro rata per hour or part hour.
Please send a cheque for the appropriate initial fee, made payable to 'The London Borough of Richmond', and send it to the address above. With your agreement, any subsequent fee will be collected later.
