Help with your planning search
What does our search cover?
Our planning database holds applications since 1977. It includes current and historic applications and is updated daily.
Where do I find planning applications for a street or applications made between certain dates?
Use the planning report facility
You can refine the report based on:
- The application status (for example; all applications, decided, not decided or waiting validation)
- The application type (for example; HOT, FUL, COU OUT, etc)
- The agent name
Remember, for large roads or streets there may be many records, so set the the Max Record to a large number.
Viewing planning enforcement notices
It is not currently possible to view planning enforcement notices or enforcement appeals documents. Email planningenforcement@richmond.gov.uk with your enquiry.
Where do I search for current and historic planning applications?
You can search by:
- Postcode within the borough or
- Property name or number or
- First line of the address or
- Application reference number (use the format 99/0123)
Once you have entered your search criteria, click the "Search" button to produce the results. If you have entered a planning application reference, the system will take you straight to the case details page of that application.
If you have entered an address or Postcode, the system will generate a list of results for this. Select the address you require to see the applications that have been made...
Once you have found the application, click on the ‘view’ button to go through to the Case Detail page...
The time-line indicates the stages of the application, with the current position of the application as the largest section. Details of what can be expected at that stage are contained here along with the label ‘Current progress here’ next to it.
If plans or pictures of the planning application are present, follow the briefcase shaped link to the Case File. A ‘View’ button may be available at certain stages of the application in the ‘current progress’ section to take you straight to the documents. You can submit comments in the Case File should the application still be in the consultation phase, as well as view comments if they have been made.
You can view scanned drawings and documentation from 2003.
The scanned documents from the Case File are in a PDF format. You can download this software from Adobe's website.
Applications submitted since 8 April 2009 through the Planning Portal in PDF format are measurable using the latest version of Adobe Reader.
Searching for unusual addresses
Where you are searching for locations that are not within the standard house name and or number format, for example: "land adjacent to", "land near" "land rear of", you need to type in 4 characters or more are required in the" Address" field.
To search for something like "land adjacent", "land rear of", "land near", enter "land a" (or "land n") and this will cover all results. To find applications containing the words "land adjacent" type this.
