Evidence, background information and research

Research carried out for the Local Development Framework has been used to inform the Twickenham Area Action Plan, where relevant. This can be viewed in Local Development Framework Research.

A number of studies and surveys have been produced specifically for the Twickenham Area Action Plan:

• Policy background(pdf, 92KB): A review and summary of the most relevant planning policy background for Twickenham, including national, regional and local policies.
• Opportunity sites(pdf, 5827KB): A list of existing sites with opportunities for improvement, new uses or redevelopment within Twickenham, including maps with aerial photographs.
• Review of open areas and civic spaces(pdf, 5042KB): An analysis of Twickenham town centre's open areas and civic spaces, including survey sheets and maps with aerial photographs for the individual areas.
• Twickenham Town Centre Health Check(pdf, 2133KB): Looks at factors which assess the centre's current performance against the health check indicators based on current government guidance on town centres (PPS 4).
• Transport and parking(pdf, 5922KB): This baseline conditions and initial scenarios report provides a summary of existing transport issues and constraints and a number of feasibility scenarios for the re-routing of vehicular traffic within and around Twickenham.
• Infrastructure audit(pdf, 69KB): Covers housing, employment, retail, education, social, community and leisure facilities, noting main areas of existing provision and information sources about future needs.
• Environmental Quality Assessment Report(pdf, 3001KB): Summarises the findings of the environmental quality survey that has been carried out for the Twickenham Town Centre study area.
