Householder Planning Application forms

These forms are to be used for works to individual houses, bungalows and flats.

Please make sure you have checked our validation checklist (National and Local Requirements) below before submitting your application. If you do not send all the information we need your application will be deemed invalid.

There are three versions of the Householder form which can be accessed from the links below along with other guidance:

HOT - Householder Application for Planning Permission for works or extension to a dwelling

Use this form if you wish to carry out an extension or make alterations within the boundaries of an existing house. It should not be used if any new dwellings (including the division of a single dwelling into two or more flats) or any business use is involved or if you seek to extend your garden boundaries by taking additional land.

If the application involves any extension or alteration to a listed building, or demolition within a conservation area, a separate application for listed building or conservation area consent on a dual form may be required as below.

HOTL - Householder Application for Planning Permission for works or extension to a dwelling and listed building consent

Use this form if your property is a Listed Building and you wish to apply for works covered under the Householder Application (as above).

HOTC - Householder Application for Planning Permission for works or extension to a dwelling and conservation area consent

Use this form for a Householder application (as above) andif your property is in a Conservation Area AND you are demolishing more than 115 cubic metres of the building (as ascertained by external measurement).
