Objecting or supporting planning applications
You can make your views known:
- In writing to the address above
- By commenting on application online
Whichever method you choose to use we recommend that before you make a comment, you should see what is a valid objection.
Important information when making applications
Documents submitted for consideration in respect of planning applications (for example: documents submitted as part of an application and representations relating to an application) are made available for inspection by the public, and can be viewed on the Council's web site, including personal information such as names and addresses which form part of the Statutory Register. If you do not wish your email details or telephone number to be viewed please enclose on a seperate piece of paper marked 'sensitive'. Signatures can be redacted on request.
Avoid any details that could compromise your own security such as holiday dates or times when you will not be on the premises. On electronic communications do not show your email address or phone number if you do not want these to be viewed. Please clearly specify in your documentation any personal information that you do not want placed on the web site. We will always write to you should we require further information.
Please note:
- Correspondence will normally be on the public website, prior to decision, if it is sent using the electronic facility you reach when accessing the scanned case file or the postal system is used, unless such correspondence is received close to decision date. However, it is possible that not all of the information on the Officer case file is displayed in this electronic version. The reader is therefore advised to view the case file in the Civic Centre, if this is a matter of concern. The hard copy case file is the definitive reference point for all correspondence received.
- Copies of planning applications are currently only held at libraries during the consultation period.
- Copies of current planning applications can be viewed online. View weekly lists of applications made and decisions issued or check on previous applications and decisions.
