Rubbish and pests

Rubbish on private land

Often rubbish accumulations can offer harbourage and food to pests as well as look untidy. We can't always take action against rubbish problems but have powers to require rubbish to be removed from private land in certain circumstances.

If you are bothered by rubbish accumulations or think that they may be a public health risk please contact us and we will investigate the matter.

Rubbish on public land

Problems associated with rubbish on public land or the highways should be referred to the Council on 020 8891 7009.

This includes items which may pose a risk to public health such as needles, syringes and other drug related items, removal of dead animals and spillages on the highway.

You can report problems with rubbish and pests using our Streetscene fault reporting online form.
