Personal searches of the Local Land Charges Register

In order to allow personal searches to be collected without unnecessary delay, please remember:

  • There is an appointment system for personal searches.
  • Appointments must be booked at least one full day in advance and booking will be taken until 4pm.
  • If you wish to collect CON29R information at the same time as inspecting the Local Land Charges Register appointments will be two working days in advance.
  • Appointments can be booked by calling 020 8891 7774 or by emailing landcharges@richmond.gov.uk.
  • The opening hours for collection of personal searches will be afternoons only between 2pm and 4.30pm.
  • If plans are needed to identify the property, these can be faxed to the land charges team on 020 8831 6287.

Any person may make a personal search on payment of the prescribed fee in any or all parts of the Local Land Charges Register. It must be stressed that a personal search is only of the Local Land Charges Register and once the Register has been inspected, the personal search has been conducted. The standard and additional parcel fee for a personal search is statutory and regulated by the Lord Chancellors Office.

A personal search is an inspection of the Local Land Charges Register. It can be carried out by anyone upon payment of the fee. It is the responsibility of the person carrying out the Personal Search (by appointment only) to identify the land/property and to make any notes of the information held on the Register.
