Nature reserves

Richmond Borough also has a World Heritage Site: Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, two Sites of Special Scientific Interest; London Wetland Centre and Richmond Park, which is also a National Nature Reserve and a Special Area of Conservation as well as six Local Nature Reserves: Barnes Common, Crane Park Island, Ham Common, Ham Lands, Leg O’Mutton Reservoir and Oak Avenue, which highlights the importance of all of these areas in terms of nature conservation value.
